It has been over a year since Dr. Yvette Lu answered our COVID-19 questions, both on her channel and by appearing on Breakfast Television here in Vancouver. Looking back at the videos it is great to see how much she got right ( Thought of the Day - April 30 - Your Questions Answered ). While Dr. Lu stepped back some time ago as greater amounts of information were provided to the public, Breakfast TV still regularly discusses aspects of COVID. So I thought would take a look at what they have featured over the past two weeks.
I found the episodes could be grouped into three categories:
1) Unsurprisingly, COVID-19 as a health crisis, is still front and center, with subjects like:
The Impact of Post-COVID Health Complications.
Elementary teachers in Ontario (EFTO) Calling for Immediate Vaccinations for Education Workers.
Our Panel of Experts Discuss COVID-19 Vaccine Fact vs. Fiction.
2) Discussions on the 'New Normal':
Ontario Now Under Stay-at-Home Order.
The Rise of Zoom Dysmorphia During the Pandemic.
How Has the Job Market Changed During COVID-19?
3) And, of course, how COVID is affecting celebrities:
Tyler Perry Sets Up COVID Vaccination Site for His Studio’s Staff and Crew.
The Vancouver Canucks Are Suffering From COVID-19.
The Canadian Government Waved 14 Day Quarantine for NHL Trades.
I would guess that one of the reasons for Dr. Lu to step forward, the same for the start of this blog, was how little information mass media was providing concerning COVID. In contrast, a year later it is amazing to see how much time the media now devotes.
Cheers
Cliff
