Thought of the Day - November 3 2021 - Vaccine Passport Exemptions

I am beginning to understand the profound difference between being opposed to vaccinations and being opposed to vaccine passports.

Just to give you a concrete example. There are many people that, for medical reasons, COVID vaccination makes no sense. For example, they have allergic reactions to vaccine reagents, they have significantly compromised health, or they are on immuno-depressants and so the vaccine will achieve little etc. Thus they are, for the time being, vaccine exempt. However, this in no way means they get a free pass.

In short, they are not entitled to a vaccine passport. They are not entitled to visit most public venues, they are not entitled to eat on a public patio, and now, if they are renting, they may not be even be allowed to stay in their homes!

I am reminded of when I was watching a TV show back in the 80s while living in England. I saw that officials from the UK were looking to Canada as they believed that the Canadian people were seen as much more informed, understanding and supportive of the plight of those with the latest pandemic - AIDS.

It is so sad to see how far we have regressed. We pretend to be a "WOKE" society. We pretend we are an inclusive society. Yes, when we have no "skin the game" we pretend very well. But when we think we are at risk, absolutely not.

Cheers Cliff

P.S. If I have touched a nerve, consider donating to the Rolly's Diner in Hope - it was one of the last places those who cannot obtain a passport could still get a home-cooked meal.
