Great news! Studies have just come in concerning Santa to say the answer is no!
Earlier, when there were suspicions that the coronavirus was a mythical virus with an accompanied mythical disease called COVID-19, there were concerns that magical beings like Santa could get infected. But now that SARS-CoV-2 has been proven to be real, experts say there is no need to worry; as everyone knows magical beings are not affected by ordinary viruses.
But wait, what about the reindeer? We have heard that primates (humans, apes, monkeys etc.), feline (cats, lions, tigers etc.), mustelidae (mink, weasels, ferret etc.), and even canines (dogs, wolves, foxes etc.) are susceptible. However, studies on capreolinae (reindeer (caribou), roe deer, mule deer and moose) show coronavirus strains that affect humans are non-viable in deer. Meaning they are safe too.
Finally, there are the presents themselves. Surfaces have been known to host viruses. Here the combination of rapid cold and heat cycles, the supersonic vibrations and the radiation of the upper atmosphere experienced by the open sleigh will neutralize any residual viral-loads on surfaces.
So we are all good to go. A Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
Cheers
Cliff
