Thought of the Day - April 8 - Take A Virtual Tour

Updated: Jul 30, 2021

Hi All,

It is looking like travel will be restricted for quite a while to come. Yet is does not mean you cannot “see” the location of your dreams. Indeed virtual tourism can bring you up-close to wonders of the world, places of personal interest, and even let you revisit your home town.

So if you have locations on your bucket list, planned vacations now cancelled, or are looking for a fascinating and educational session with the kids why not do it virtually. It takes a little planning and research but you can become your own tour guide.

Google Earth and Maps Streetview are of course a good place to start, they can give you the lay of the land and link to pictures and further local material. There are also sites dedicated to virtual tours, some providing interactive 360 views (which of course are even more amazing if you have a virtual reality googles or headset).

There are sites that focus on specific themes as well.

To get your started why not do a simple walking tour of Vancouver Cherry Blossoms

Happy Touring.

Cheers

Cliff
