Thought of the Day - February 17 2022 - Mexico Bound

Well, it has been two years since we have travelled internationally and one year since the article entitled Mexico Bound ( Thought of the Day - February 17 - Mexico Bound ) was published. Guess what? We are off once again near the end of the month. The great news is that Canada has taken its first step in shucking pandemic thinking in that we will not require a PCR test to return. While we still need to be tested, a rapid test is cheaper and far less accurate; this means the chance of a positive result from an earlier infection is far less. Our main challenge upon our return still remains successfully wrangling the ArriveCan app that is going to receive an update at the end of the month.

Mexico, you might know, is one of the countries that has had minimal COVID restrictions and so there is little required to enter the country. Like Canada and the US, official cases there have plummeted since the end of January. Canada still has a COVID travel advisory that includes Mexico, this is accompanied by the suggestion you should not go to almost half of the Mexican states in the first place due to criminal activity and kidnapping.

I guess my point is you need to weigh the relative risk of COVID against all the other very real-life risks in deciding what you will and won't undertake. For me, I think it is important that I walk the talk in getting ready for our much anticipated Spring Reset ( Thought of the Day - January 17 2022 - Our 2022 Spring Reset ), where together we put this pandemic thinking behind us.

Cheers

Cliff
