Thought of the Day - August 18 - The American Empire

While I have resisted doing much geopolitical reflection in this blog, a buddy sent me this article (link) from The Rolling Stone: https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/political-commentary/covid-19-end-of-american-era-wade-davis-1038206/ reflecting on the US and their coronavirus response.

Anyway, what was interesting is that this article, other than being well written, is not exactly news. But then it hit me: it was written by a Canadian! So while this is common parlance here (thus the overwhelming call to keep the border closed), it may indeed be news to many Americans.

I guess we just have to ask ourselves, in this era of fake news, who is drinking the Kool-Aid?
