Well here we are at the end of August. I thought I would take a look back and a deeper dive to see how the figures have changed across Canada in the last 30 days.
Looking at new cases per capita we can see that cases in Quebec, Manitoba and Ontario have decreased while BC and Manitoba have grown considerably.

Because of this when we compare active cases per capita:

We see BC has picked up the case load from Quebec and Manitoba from Saskatchewan.
So overall across the country (not adjusted for population) while the total of Actives case has not changed much we now have a different distribution:

So my new guesstimated of infections rates we see Canada has increased somewhat over the past month but pale in comparison to the USA:

There are almost four times as much of the population infected in the US when compared to Canada. And you are twice as likely to have been infected in Quebec than BC. Only time will tell which was the better strategy.
Looking at deaths:

Things have improved significantly (Thought of the Day - August 27 - Decrease in Death Rate) of late, bringing down the overall case fatality rates. That said, Canada is moving further behind the USA - but this is partially to do with the dramatic increase in cases over the past couple of months in the US; Cases that have yet to play out.

On a cumulative per capita basis little has changed:

However looking at new deaths per capita, Quebec has had a remarkable improvement and it is the Prairies that are in trouble now:

So in short, the east has improved over the past month and the west is now having a bumpy ride.
This week a shout-out goes to Prince Edward Island, the only Province that has had no deaths from COVID-19!
Cheers
Cliff
