Given the much appreciated feedback from last week's post ( Thought of the Day - December 11 - An Xmas Ditty ) and the fact that Christmas is just a week away, I figure I would try my hand one last time. Ladies and gentlemen I present:
The Twelve Days of "COVID"
On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me: A vacation I'm never gonna' see;
On the second day of Christmas my true love gave to me: No toilet paper;
On the third day of Christmas my true love gave to me: Three ply masks;
On the fourth day of Christmas my true love gave to me: A four-course meal delivered;
On the fifth day of Christmas my true love gave to me: Five Virtual Hugs!
On the sixth day of Christmas my true love gave to me: A six person bubble;
On the seventh day of Christmas my true love gave to me: Seven friends a-Zooming;
On the eighth day of Christmas my true love gave to me: Eight months of NETFLIX;
On the ninth day of Christmas my true love gave to me: Nine mink a-stolling;
On the tenth day of Christmas my true love gave to me: Ten testers tracing;
On the eleventh day of Christmas my true love gave to me: Eleven Hallmark movies;
On the twelfth day of Christmas my true love gave to me: and Twelve more days of quarantine to share.
It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas,
Went for a-stroll a-round.
Down to the Du Plessis place*, and what was in our face?
Well the whole darn town.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas,
Still I work from home.
In the closet you will see, me huddled o'er my PC,
'Cause we Zoom not phone.
Power Treads, down th' racetrack they thread
Is the wish of Barney and Ben
Baby Yoda that cheers, and wiggles its ears
Is the hope of Janice and Jen
And Mom and Dad can hardly wait for school to start again
I'm beginning to not like Christmas, Everywhere I go. Are you leaving a metre space? I can hardly see your face, With your mask just so.
I’m beginning to not like Christmas, Queues at every store. But the prettiest sight we'll see, is the vaccine that will be To make your arm go sore.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas,
What is Christmas for?
Gives us pause to think, when our lives are in the drink.
I'm lovin' it e-ven mooore!!
Cheers
Cliff
