One of the benefits of life's disruption caused but COVID-19 is you get a new insight into human nature. Here are some examples brought to my attention, they clearly illustrates our self-serving ingenuity.
This first story centres around the eels at Tokyo's Sumida aquarium. It seems these creatures have recently been confronted with a dearth of human visitors. It seems this lack of human exposure was worrying the eel-keepers who fear that their charges may start hiding from them as they pass by. In short, revert to their natural state. To counter this the keepers decided to introduce what it calls a "face-showing festival", setting up tank-side iPads and encouraging fans to FaceTime directly with the eels. In response they have had millions of "visits".

Meanwhile, these so-called "Buchette del Vino", or wine windows, were used by vintners in Italy to sell wine to the lower classes during plague pandemics in the 17th century. Sellers would use the windows to pass a flask of wine to a customer, as well as a metal pallet to collect money. The seller would then disinfect coins from the customer with vinegar. Customers could also fill their own flask using a metal tube passed through the window
Now these wine windows are coming back to use due to coronavirus.

Wow, while I initially said you can't make this stuff up, I guess you can, it is simply human nature to do so.
Cheers
Cliff
