Over in the UK, the remaining COVID-19 restrictions will be scrapped in England over the next week (note Monday's announcement applies only to England, which is home to 56 million of the United Kingdom's 67 million people, the other countries and territories, notably Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, have yet to announce the same).
The country is "moving from government restrictions to personal responsibility," says Boris.

This of course came with the backdrop of Queen Elizabeth testing positive for COVID-19 on Sunday, "a reminder that this virus has not gone away", and is still a concern for the elderly and health-vulnerable. Buckingham Palace said the 95-year-old monarch was experiencing mild, cold-like symptoms, was continuing with light duties and would follow all government regulations.
Of her former colonies, India and Canada have by far the highest residual restrictions, New Zealand for example has now lifted their vaccine mandates and physical distancing legislation. One can only hope Canada will be guided by the same light.
Cheers
Cliff
