I know, I know, we shouldn't have done it. But hey when you have a chance to tackle the mountains of our great Province in a new Acura MDX who would not jump at the chance. I see now why car companies use the great outdoors to showcase their products. And while I am not privy to the results from professional equipment here are some snaps from the photoshoot.

Anyway, the main point of this blog is to make some observations. It has been over three months since I have been outside greater Vancouver, and here is what has changed.
First, it is obvious that businesses are still bearing the brunt of the procedures required to keep people safe - each is trying to:
do the right thing and avoid a business-destroying "incident";
engage their staff, who have become the next-wave of "front line workers";
ensure they implement excessive signage;
record customer contact information in the event contact-tracing becomes a thing;
hope that patrons still have a fighting chance of enjoying the service provided.
Secondly, much of the public at large has not changed their ways:
mask use is minimal;
traffic has started to build to pre-pandemic levels;
cars were spotted Washington state plates;
public groups are common.
And finally, the police. They were way ahead of the curve. Even before municipalities started looking at their budget shortfalls and the figures policing represent, they were out there collecting revenue. And, rest assured, they have redoubled their efforts, there are speed traps everywhere!
Cheers
Cliff
