Thought of the Day - June 28 2021 - Mask Incentive

Updated: Aug 1, 2021

Knowing that first-dose vaccinations have plateaued, authorities are looking for incentives to encourage further vaccination. Last week Public Health Agency of Canada provided clarification concerning the use of masks, for those that are partially or fully vaccinated.

In short, no real differentiation is being made concerning whether you are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, you should wear masks indoors or outdoors in gatherings where social distancing cannot always be achieved. With full vaccination, masks are only needed for events.

It is great to see we are sticking to the topic at hand and not yet, in BC anyway, stooping to vaccine bribes like our neighbours to the south ( Thought of the Day - June 3 2021 - Vaccine Bribes ), or indeed other provinces - e.g. Alberta's Open for Summer - Alberta residents 18 and older who have had at least one dose of an approved COVID-19 vaccine can enter the draw to win $1 million prizes.

That said, clarity on vaccine passports would also go a long way to "encouraging" folk to get the second shot, as well as the first, here in Canada.

Cheers

Cliff
