Thought of the Day - March 4 2022 - In Some Circles Vaccine Mandates Are Still A Thing!

Meanwhile in Canada, the city of Hamilton, Ontario just made the news. Back in January they decided that all city workers must be vaccinated. It seem that their forward-thinking city council decided that this also applied to municipal bus drivers; they need to be vaccinated by June 1, 2022. I kid you not.

Here we are with the province of Ontario dropping its vaccine passport this week, Hamilton's unvaccinated police officers returned to work this week, and yet the Hamilton council still insists on enforcing a new municipal vaccine mandate. Where were the rules in 2020 when vaccines were saving lives? Why the continuation of outdated COVID policy in 2022? All I can think is that COVID mandates have now become a bargaining chip, used to take on unions such as ATU 107 who represent the bus drivers. Such an evocative item, that is bound to attract media attention, is being used as a concession in negotiations. So sad.
