World
New cases and new deaths remain high in South America, although there is a slow downward trend. North America's figures have been increasing as of late due to increases in the USA and Mexico.

Canada
Here in Canada, deaths have declined 20% over the last two weeks. New cases are down over 50%.

Even Manitoba looks like they may have crested the wave. Despite continuing to need to send patients to Ontario over the past week, hospital figures in Manitoba are now declining.

We are now over 55% first-dose vaccinated in Canada - two-thirds of the way to the magical 75% number.

Concerning the second-dose, we are now around 5% of the population, so about a quarter of the way to Trudeau's election announcement target.
Canada is doing well against other countries that are heavily invested in the vaccination route. Our hospitalizations are catching the US.

Our new deaths per capita remain lower than the US and Germany. And hopefully, over the next month, we will close the gap with the UK and Israel.
This week's shout-out goes to Canada. Across the country the news is good. All provinces, other than Manitoba, have announced their reopening plan and a number have already moved into the first phase.
Cheers
Cliff
