Thought of the Day - November 16 2021 - Follow the Science

Since the start of the pandemic, well actually before the pandemic was officially a pandemic, I have been following Dr. John Campbell out of the UK on YouTube. Indeed, I posted a link to his channel on this Blog (under: Things I Follow ) back in March 2020. For nearly two years now he has been doing a great job in providing daily updates from around the world, including Canada, and reviewing the treatment side of COVID, both policy and medical. Over the past year, Dr. John has also been invited on major news programs around the world to provide insight; major broadcasters in his home country but also DW (German TV) and CNN (US TV).

Just recently, much to the surprise of him and his viewers, he has been "Fact Checked" by YouTube. Was it because he was critical of China and the WHO in the early handling of the crisis? Nope. What about covering the deployment of vaccines including the concern that without aspiration (to ensure that there is no possibility of arterial injection) some people could die? No. So, what did he do? In what area did he fly too close to the flame?

It turns out he was reviewing papers that discuss the new Pfizer drug Paxlovid. Paxlovid is a 'protease inhibitor' as is Ivermectin. Oops, he mentioned the 'I-word' and now he is in trouble with certain concerned parties in the US and thus his YouTube video is striped with the 'Fact Check' warning.

When you open up the warning, that was compiled by a number of eminent 'journalists', it does not actually refute anything that Dr. Campbell said, it is really just there to reinforce that there are some things that should not be posted on US social media. Wow. Just like considering the possibility that the US funded the Coronavirus research in the Wuhan lab was banned in 2020 ( Thought of the Day - November 1 2021 - The Smoking Gun ), Ivermectin is the 2021 version.

It reminds me of the last interview with the scientific genius and author Cal Sagan just before he died (here is a short excerpt).

Although Carl died in the mid 90's, it has taken a global pandemic almost 20 years later for dummies like me to finally see how insightful he really was. RIP Carl. No wonder there is so much confusion.

Cheers

Cliff
