I know what you were thinking. As today is the launch of the BC Vaccine Passport, I would be dwelling on how bad the online launch was ( Thought of the Day - August 18 2021 - Apps Gone Wild ). I would be talking about last week's hour+ wait that many had to endure as they tried to go to: https://www2.gov.bc.ca/vaccinecard.html earlier last week - you know the one with the logo:

But no, I am more concerned with the million or so adults in our province that are now marginalized.
So, other than agreeing to get vaccinated, what options do they have?

First, there is getting a fake vaccination record, one that you can try to use to register with BC Heath. There are stories-a-plenty of fake ids being used when entering Canada, so why not try in BC? Welp, rumour has it, at the federal level at least, there could be an associated $50k fine.

Next, there is simply leaving the country. I would guess this will be the preferred option for those with the means. Talking with a couple of friends they have chosen Mexico. Flights are cheap, and restrictions are few (you do not even have to take a PCR test). Why not take in the sun while this blows over!

Finally, there are enclaves in Canada that are embracing the unembraceable. One such locale is Salt Spring Island here in BC. Well known for their anti-establishment mentality, Salt Spring has embraced radical stances before such as continuing to allow hitchhiking and even encouraging the "hippy mentality".
Agree or not, I certainly wish my fellow citizens well.
Cheers
Cliff
