Thought of the Day - September 13 - By the Numbers

Updated: Aug 8, 2021

This week I am going to have a little more of a look around the world. The key change that has been happening recently is that the COVID-19 epicentre has moved from the Americas over to south Asia, particularly India.

India now leads the world in the number of new cases reported each day by a significant margin. It is expected by next week they will be reporting over 100,000 a day.

But of course, due to India's massive population, it will take sometime until the case per million equal the likes of the US or Peru.

Of course, a better indication of the real tragedy is deaths. India now leads the world in the number of official deaths per day, and unlike Brazil and the US the trend is increasing.

Meanwhile, closer to home, Manitoba looks to be improving while Alberta and BC continue to struggle. Also, cases numbers in Quebec are starting to grow again.

This week's shout-out goes to Manitoba. They look like they have turned the tide on their biggest wave.

Cheers

Cliff
