With the inclement weather we experienced earlier this week, I realized that our current COVID practice of lining up outside of businesses, or enjoying make-shift dining "al fresco" may be coming to an end. The establishments that can provide at least some shelter for their patrons will fair better as winter approaches.
In the summer, fewer cars on the road meant an easy drive to your favourite spot. A wait outside meant you were seen doing your part, respecting social distancing, and still support the local community. Fast forward to November: huddling on the street, shivering in the dark, sodden masks clinging to your face, will not be people's first choice for an evening out, or to obtain a fresh-baked breakfast treat.
Thus businesses and services must improve their "waiting experience" if they wish to remain popular.
Sounds to me like a great time to get into the awning business.

Vancouver's 361 "temporary patios" setup until October 31st are allowed to stay for winter months. They will be allowed to erect roof shelters and install outdoor heaters.
France's new Ecology Minister announced a ban on heaters in cafes, restaurant and bar patios earlier this year. A number of cities had already implemented the environmentally-driven policy. Now with the push for distancing and fresh air, the debate is raging in Paris where 70% of terraces have heaters. It looks like policy enforcement will delayed until next spring.
Outdoor heaters for patios will be a great way to extend the season for diners. awnings for rainy days and rainy climes like VCR
