Thought of the Day - December 7 2021 - Good News in BC

There is good news here in BC.

As well as the progress in cleaning up after the heavy rains, for example, the Barrowtown area water levels dropped 1.5 metres over the weekend and CN says they now have their trains rolling, I am also thinking of COVID.

Hospitalizations in BC are at a three-month low! Our active case rates are at a four-month low, and so this trend should continue at least for a little while longer. Don't forget at this time last year we were only just over the peak of our first serious wave. A year ago we were seeing more than double our current figure in new daily cases, and seeing four times our current death rate.

Moreover, there are only five care homes with active outbreaks at the moment. There were no new outbreaks reported over the weekend. This is way down from a month ago when it was in the 30s, and a year ago when a whopping 65 care facilities were in trouble!

So keep on doing what you are doing, remember to give yourself a pat on the back, and make an even greater effort to treat others with kindness.
