Thought of the Day - February 3 2022 - Why All These Reports That COVID Restrictions Don't Work?

I find it interesting how many new studies are being published all of a sudden that are focused on the need to end pandemic restrictions. Not that I disagree with the conclusions, but just why was this information not published months ago?

We talked about one of the many US CDC revelations as of late ( Thought of the Day - January 26 2022 - Natural Immunity IS Better ). Things like the "CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said that COVID-19 vaccines are no longer effective at preventing transmission of the virus."

And here is an excerpt from a John Hopkins study covered by the National Post this week:

Lockdowns only reduced COVID deaths by 0.2 percent, Johns Hopkins study finds

We find no evidence that lockdowns, school closures, border closures, and limiting gatherings have had a noticeable effect on COVID-19 mortality. In both Europe and the United States, researchers found that a lockdown could only be expected to bring down mortality rates by 0.2 percent as compared to a COVID-19 policy based solely on recommendations.

“We find no evidence that lockdowns, school closures, border closures, and limiting gatherings have had a noticeable effect on COVID-19 mortality,” reads the paper, which is based on a review of 34 pre-existing COVID-19 studies.

Yes, you read that right, this subject has been studied at least 34 times in the past (some studies were released in 2020) but only now is this reported in mainstream media.

Denmark, which is a current outlier in Europe in dropping all of its COVID restrictions yesterday, has also been in the news. The Prime Minister of Denmark has now apologized for the mass culling of mink ( Thought of the Day - November 12 2021 - Mink, Mink, and More Mink ). One of Denmark's largest newspapers has apologized to its readers for not questioning the government’s data and narratives more throughout the first two years of the pandemic, with the headline "We Failed".

My point is that we also should question the narrative. Are these reports coming out to justify the end of COVID restrictions, or is the end of the COVID restrictions stemming from these reports finally coming out?

Given Canada is now #6 in the world for COVID restrictions according to OurWorldInData, and we have Truckers at loggerheads with the Federal Government in Ottawa, we really need to know the answer to this very important question.
