Good news, after months of hard work there are now a growing number of locales that have managed to become "COVID Free" (SOURCE: worldometers):
those that have had cases and deaths but are now case-free: Belize, Mauritius, Montserrat, Suriname & Trinidad and Tobago;
those that have had cases but all have recovered: Anguilla, Cambodia, Caribbean Netherlands, Dominica, East Timor, Eritrea, Faeroe Islands, Falkland Islands, French Polynesia, Greenland, Macao, New Caledonia, Papua New Guinea, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Pierre et Miquelon, Seychelles, St. Barths & Western Sahara.
And of course Prince Edward Island, along with our territories, proudly joins this second list (New Brunswick came off the list as they had a new case this week).
You can say to yourself: well they are small so it was easy. Yet there are other small locales like San Marino, Andorra, Gibraltar, or Isle of Man who are still in trouble, mainly as they did not manage to close their borders in a timely fashion.
I had a chance to sail in New Caledonia and visit New Brunswick last year. Hopefully, their re-opening plans do not include allowing us "riddled BCers" to visit them this year - well at least not ahead of a legit antibody test.
Cheers
Cliff
P.S. For those now "homeschooling" why not use this as a geography lesson. If you have a world map, add a pin in the growing list of "COVID-Free" locales.
